The council collection

Newcastle's council bulky collection lists strip-out items by name. Up to 6 kitchen units are £40. A bath, toilet, sink, kitchen worktop (no longer than 6 foot), a bathroom suite (bath, sink and toilet) and a boiler with up to 5 radiators are £70 each. A bath must be empty. It is for domestic use only, and the council says items from a trade may not be collected. The council page also shows a 25% discount on listed prices, which it describes as current, so check the booking form.

The tips

Byker and Walbottle take small amounts of domestic DIY waste, rubble, soil and plasterboard. Brunswick takes none of the DIY waste. The council gives no limit for a small amount, and says disposing of commercial or trade waste at its tips is an offence. See rubble and building waste in Newcastle.
