Good to know about Byker
- If you drive a van, a pick-up or a car with a trailer, this is the wrong tip: Brunswick is the only site that will let you in
- A good choice for a car boot of DIY leftovers, because the council lists small amounts of rubble, soil and plasterboard here, which Brunswick refuses
- Vehicle batteries and domestic DIY waste are taken. Fridges are not, so Walbottle is the one to use for those
- Sofas, mattresses, carpets, timber, white goods and green garden waste are all on the accepted list
- Up to 4 old tyres per vehicle, the same limit as the other two sites
Details for all three sites are in the Newcastle tips guide. The other two are Brunswick and Walbottle.
