The sites close on the hour. Last entry is 15 minutes before closing for a small car load, 30 minutes for a large car load and 60 minutes for a vehicle with a permit.
Who can use them
The council says only Newcastle residents can use its tips. You can't walk in: all visitors must use a vehicle or a cargo bike. Animals, including pets, are not allowed on site.
Vans and permits
Vans (including hire vans), car-derived vans, pick-ups, campervans, minibuses, anything towing a trailer, any vehicle with company livery and any vehicle with the rear seats removed or modified need a permit, applied for by text message. They can only use Brunswick. See the van permit guide.
