The council route
Trafford's terms say items must be outside the building but inside your property boundary by 6.30am, put out only that morning, and each one must be safe for two people to carry. So everything has to come out of the garage first, and anything not listed on the order is left behind. At £44.10 per five items, a garage of old furniture, bikes and boxes adds up quickly.

Sort the load into wood, metal, electricals, rubble and general waste before setting off for Chester Road in Stretford or Woodhouse Lane in Altrincham. Rubble is capped at five sacks a visit. Plasterboard goes to a site on the plasterboard list such as Longley Lane. If you are unsure about chemicals or old tins, ask the staff when you arrive.
