Where it goes
Recycle for Greater Manchester takes cement-bonded asbestos from your own home only, at four weighbridges: Longley Lane in Sharston, Cobden Street in Salford, Arkwright Street in Oldham and Bredbury Parkway in Stockport. Chester Road and Woodhouse Lane do not take it. Cobden Street's asbestos hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday 7am to 1pm. All four close on 25 and 26 December and 1 January.

- Hard hat, safety glasses, hi-vis, gloves and steel-capped boots
- A recent council tax, water, gas, electric or landline bill for your address (not a mobile bill)

If a contractor removed it
Asbestos removed by a tradesperson is not accepted at any Greater Manchester facility. If you are not sure whether a panel or sheet is asbestos, leave it alone and get it checked.
