The rubble limit
Recycle for Greater Manchester takes hardcore, rubble and garden soil from your own home, up to five 900mm by 600mm sacks a visit, at Chester Road in Stretford or Woodhouse Lane in Altrincham. Vans get 18 visits a year with a free van permit, and cars get 52.
Plasterboard
Neither Trafford site is on the list of centres that take household plasterboard. Longley Lane in Sharston is one that does.

Get free quotesIf a builder did the work
Rubble from a tradesperson you paid is business waste and is turned away at every Greater Manchester site. The builder should remove it and show a waste carrier registration. Trafford raised its fly-tipping fixed penalty from £450 to £1,000 in June 2026, so make sure it goes somewhere legal.
