At the tips
The council says rubble, tyres and wood with nails and screws in, which its bulky collection will not take, can go to its recycling centres. The pages we read give no charge or quantity limit for building materials. A van or large trailer needs a free tip permit. Asbestos is a separate rule: Wiltshire Road only, see asbestos disposal in Hull.
The bulky collection
The council bulky collection does not collect rubble, tyres, trees or wood with nails and screws in. DIY items it does take are charged: laminate flooring at £36.15 for the first room, up to five fencing panels at £36.15 and the first external door at £36.15, among others.
Builders
The tips are not for business or commercial use, and trade waste is not eligible for a permit. A builder doing the job should take the waste away. Ask where it is going.
Collection options
For a bigger job: builders' waste, grab hire or rubbish removal.
