Hours

The council gives one set of hours for all three sites: 10am to 5pm every day, and says the centres are usually busiest in the morning. Closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, and shut at 4pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Who can use them

You need to display a pass in the window of your car to prove you are a Hull resident. Without one, you can show a recent utility bill or a driving licence as proof of a Hull address. The sites are not for business, trade or commercial use.

Vans and trailers

A van or a large trailer needs a permit. Permits are free and the limit is 12 visits per household per year. You also book a slot. See the tip permit guide. Motor homes do not need one.

What they take

The council page does not give charges or amounts for building materials, so ask at the site if you are unsure. Asbestos is only accepted at Wiltshire Road: see asbestos disposal in Hull. Building and DIY waste is covered in rubble and building waste in Hull.

Trade waste

The council says trade or business collections should be arranged through its trade waste officers or private contractors. Landlords, commercial addresses and trade waste are not eligible for tip permits.

No tip trip? A licensed company can collect: rubbish removal, single items, builders' waste or house clearance.

Tip not an option?

A licensed Hull company can collect from your home, with no permit to get.
