Where to take them

The Old Swan page names plasterboard and tyres in its list of accepted items. The Otterspool page doesn't list items in text, so ask before taking either there. A van needs a van booking, and gets 12 visits a year.

Limits and charges

The pages we checked give no sack limit, weight limit or charge for plasterboard or tyres, and no cap on how many tyres a household can bring. That may mean there is none, or that it isn't published, so ask the authority on 0151 255 1444 if you have a lot. The council's bulky collection won't take builders' waste.

Trade waste

Both tips say trade and commercial waste will not be accepted. Plasterboard from a fitter's job is the fitter's to remove. See strip-out waste in Liverpool.

If you can't go

For plasterboard from a bigger job, a builders' waste collection or a skip is usually simpler. For a few old tyres, ask whether the garage fitting your new ones will take the old ones. See also rubble and building waste in Liverpool.
