Old Swan is one of Liverpool's household waste recycling centres, checked against Liverpool City Council and Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority pages on 29 October 2026.

Cheadle Avenue, Old Swan, Liverpool, L13 3AF. Old Swan is on Cheadle Avenue. It is the only one of the two Liverpool sites that takes paint.
Old Swan opening times
Summer (1 April to 30 September) 8am to 8pm, winter (1 October to 31 March) 8am to 5pm. It is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Near closing time the staff may stop vehicles joining the queue, so arrive well before the gates shut.
Good to know about Old Swan
- Takes plasterboard, tyres, and hardcore and rubble. The page shows no quantity limit for any of them
- Takes fridges and freezers, cardboard, cooking oil, batteries, aerosols, fluorescent tubes and disposable vapes
- Paint is accepted here. Otterspool does not take it
- There is a pedestrian gate and marked walkways, and a bike reuse point
- No asbestos and no trade waste. Near closing time staff tell drivers who may not get in, and stop the queue
