The tips
Old Swan lists fridges and freezers, and large domestic appliances, among its accepted items. The council also says its sites take white goods such as fridges and freezers. The Otterspool page names no items, so check it takes them. A van needs a van booking. See the Liverpool tips guide.
Council collection
The council bulky collection is free. Its exclusion list names range cookers, but not fridges or freezers, so a fridge can be one of your five bulky items. Leave it outside your home on the day. The pages we checked don't say whether it needs to be emptied or defrosted first, so do both anyway.
Other electrical items
The same booking can include up to five small electrical items, but you can't book a collection for small electricals alone. Old Swan also takes batteries, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs and disposable vapes, and the bulky collection does not take batteries.
Private collection
A licensed collector will usually remove a fridge for about £20 to £50 as a UK guide price.
