Council collection
Beds and mattresses are named as household items the council takes (Tameside bulky collection), at £38 for up to five items. List each piece on its own: the council says "1 complete bed" is not accepted. Tameside asks for items to be ready from 7am, outside and all in one easy-to-reach place, and the crew calls between 7am and 3pm.

Recycle for Greater Manchester says most of its centres have a mattress container, so ask at Ash Road in Droylsden or Bayley Street in Stalybridge. Mattresses are not taken in donate containers.
Private collection
A licensed collector can take it from the bedroom. UK guide prices are about £20 to £50.
