What Tameside says
Tameside's trade waste page says it is illegal to dispose of trade or business waste at any household waste recycling centre, and its tips page says the centres are not for business waste. The council's figures for 2025 include 8 fixed penalties for failing to produce a waste transfer note (checked against Tameside Council and Recycle for Greater Manchester pages on 2 November 2026).
Tameside does not spell out on these pages whether a landlord clearing a tenant's leftovers counts as business waste. Neighbouring Salford says it does. Do not rely on the tip.
