Tenants
A Tameside bulky collection is £38 for up to five items, booked by 3pm the working day before your area's day. Collections run Monday to Thursday by area, so check yours before you set a moving date. The charge is not refunded, and bags of rubbish are not taken. Anything left behind may come out of your deposit, so check your tenancy agreement.

Tameside says it is illegal to dispose of trade or business waste at any household recycling centre, and its tips say they are not for business waste. The council runs a trade waste service, priced from £452 a year from April 2026. For a one-off clearance, use a registered waste carrier and keep the waste transfer note. In 2025 Tameside issued 8 fixed penalties for failing to produce a waste transfer note.
