What the council will take
The council bulky collection lists household fixtures such as sinks, toilets and radiators. That covers a few bathroom pieces, but not units, worktops, tiles or rubble, and a booking stops at six items. Rochdale says items must be outside by 7am on your usual bin day, and that it cannot pick them up from inside your house or garage.
The tips
Rubble is limited to five 900mm by 600mm sacks a visit, from DIY you did yourself. Both Chichester Street and Spring Vale take household plasterboard. Vans need a free van permit, and a tall van may not fit under Spring Vale's 2 metre barrier.
