What the council will take
The Tameside bulky collection takes up to five listed household items for £38. Its refused list includes garage doors, car and motorbike parts, gas bottles, drums and loose or bagged rubbish, which is much of what a garage holds. Tameside asks for items to be ready from 7am, outside and all in one easy-to-reach place, and the crew calls between 7am and 3pm.

Sort wood, metal, electricals, rubble and general waste before going to Ash Road in Droylsden or Bayley Street in Stalybridge. Rubble is capped at five sacks a visit. Only Bayley Street takes household plasterboard. Ask staff about old tins, oils and chemicals when you arrive.
