Bury says business or trade waste cannot go to any of its centres. If a window fitter or bathroom fitter is doing the work, make sure their price includes taking the old frames, glass and screens away, and check their waste carrier licence.
If you removed them yourself
- Tape across glass panes and wrap them in old sheets or cardboard
- Carry mirrors and shower screens upright, with gloves
- Ask staff at Every Street in Bury or Cemetery Road in Radcliffe where frames and glass should go before unloading
- Keep wooden frames, uPVC and metal separate
Vans need a free van permit, and Bury says vehicles over 2 metres must use the weighbridge at Every Street.
