Tip dates
Recycle for Greater Manchester lists Chester Road and Woodhouse Lane as open 8am to 6pm Monday to Sunday, closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day (checked against Trafford Council and Recycle for Greater Manchester pages on 2 November 2026). Nothing is said about shorter hours on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve, so check before a late trip.

Trafford says garden waste collections are suspended for one week over Christmas. A bulky collection needs items out by 6.30am on the booked day, so leave time if your plans change over the holidays.
Before you go
Flatten boxes and sort the car before you arrive. Vans need a free van permit, applied for 2 working days ahead.
