Where Sandfold Lane tip is
Sandfold Lane, Manchester, M19 3BJ. Sandfold Lane is the second open Manchester tip. Its page says pick-up trucks can't use the site, so a pick-up needs one of the larger sites on the council's van permit list.
Sandfold Lane opening times
Monday to Sunday, 8am to 6pm. It is closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and the council pages mention no other closures. Staff stop vehicles at the gate to check loads, so separate your waste before you arrive.
Good to know about Sandfold Lane
- Takes fridges and freezers (empty them first), carpets, tyres and general waste
- Plasterboard: the site isn't on the council's list of sites that take it. Use Longley Lane
- Rubble and soil: up to five 900mm by 600mm sacks per visit
- Mattresses go in a container where the site has one. The council says most centres do, so ask a member of staff
- Asbestos isn't taken here. Longley Lane is the Manchester site among the four that take cement-bonded asbestos, and protective gear is needed
