What Bury says
Bury's recycling centre page says you cannot take business or trade waste to any of its centres, and that trade waste can go to a SUEZ waste transfer facility, where PPE must be worn (checked against Bury Council and Recycle for Greater Manchester pages on 2 November 2026). The council does not spell out whether a landlord clearing a tenant's leftovers counts as trade waste. Neighbouring Salford says it does, so do not rely on the tip.
In August 2026 Bury issued a £300 fixed penalty under commercial duty of care, which is about businesses not handling their waste properly.
