If you are the tenant
You can book the council bulky collection for your own items, at £41 for up to five or £82 for up to ten. Book it for a day before you hand the keys back, because the terms say it cannot collect from empty properties. Changes and refunds are possible up to 12.30pm the day before.
Get the timing right
- Check your bulky day: Monday to Wednesday bin days get a Tuesday collection, Thursday or Friday bin days a Thursday
- Book it for a day while you still live there
- Leave items on the ground floor or covered outside within the boundary
- Take bags of rubbish to the tips in a car, or book a licensed company
