Tip dates
Bury Council says its two centres are closed only on 25 December and 1 January, and open 8am to 6pm in winter (checked against Bury Council and Recycle for Greater Manchester pages on 2 November 2026). Bury's page does not mention shorter hours on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve, so check before a late trip.

Bury says bulky dates are usually available within a week and can be booked up to three weeks ahead. Items must be out at the front and kept dry, and there is no refund if they are not out on the day.
Before you go
Separate your waste and recycling before you arrive, as Bury asks. Tall vans must use the weighbridge at Every Street, and vans need a free van permit.
