At the tip
The council's recycling centre page says you can take a maximum of two asbestos sacks to Bessemer Close, and that you need to ring 029 2087 2087 to book an appointment. Asbestos cannot be booked online. The page does not say which types of asbestos are accepted or how the sacks must be wrapped, so ask when you phone.
Collections
Asbestos is on the council's list of items it will not collect in a council bulky collection. For anything larger than two sacks, such as a garage roof, use a licensed asbestos contractor. Ordinary rubbish removal firms do not usually take it unless they say so.
Staying safe
- Do not break, drill, sand or sweep suspect material
- Keep children and pets away from it
- If you are not sure what a material is, have it tested by a licensed surveyor before you touch it
