Where to take them

Only Bowling Back Lane and Keighley list plasterboard and tyres, and both pages mark them as chargeable. Dealburn Road, Dowley Gap and Midland Road don't take either. You need your resident permit in the car. The council's bulky collection won't take tyres, car parts or builders' and DIY waste.

Plasterboard times

SitePlasterboard accepted
Bowling Back LaneMonday to Friday 9am to 4pm, Saturday 9am to 3pm, Sunday 10am to 3pm
KeighleyMonday to Friday 9am to 4pm, Saturday 9am to 11.45am, Sunday 10am to 3pm

These are shorter than the sites' general opening hours, so a visit at 4.30pm on a weekday won't work for plasterboard even though the site is open.

Minimum charges

ItemMinimum charge 2026-27
Plasterboard£10.50
Car tyres£8 each
Commercial tyres£10 each

These come from the council's 2026-27 weighbridge price list. The council says extra charges may apply for specialised waste or extra handling, and it doesn't say how many tyres a household can bring, so ask on site. Waste from a trade job, like a builder's leftovers, isn't accepted at the tips at all.

If you can't go

For plasterboard from a bigger job, a builders' waste collection or a skip is usually simpler. For a few old tyres, ask whether the garage fitting your new ones will take the old ones. See also rubble and building waste in Bradford.
