What it is for

Oldham's bulky page says the service is for broken or damaged furniture and electrical items that cannot be re-used, sold or donated. Furniture in good condition is meant to go to charity or reuse instead. Bags of household rubbish that fit in your bins are not part of the service.

When a private collection is better

£10 an item soon adds up: five items is £50. A licensed company may be worth it if you have a mixed load, items still inside or upstairs, or rubbish the council will not take, such as building waste. See house clearance in Oldham or single item removal.

Heavy items still inside?

A licensed Oldham company can carry them out and take them away.
