The council service
Oldham's bulky page says the service is for broken or damaged furniture and electrical items that cannot be re-used, sold or donated. Old units, worktops, tiles and bathroom suites are not what it is for, so most strip-out waste needs the tip or a licensed company.
Arkwright Street
The Arkwright Street tip takes rubble up to five 900mm by 600mm sacks a visit, from work you did yourself, and plasterboard removed from your own home. Vans need a free van permit, applied for 2 working days ahead, with 18 visits a year.
Council or tip not working out? Tell us what needs clearing and licensed local companies will call you with prices. Free, no obligation.

Waste from a tradesperson you hired is business waste and cannot go to any Greater Manchester site. Make sure your fitter's quote includes taking it away, and check they are a registered waste carrier.
