The tips
The Greater Manchester recycling centres are taking fridges and freezers. The pages we checked say to empty your fridge and freezer before you bring them, and no shortage notice was showing on the pages we checked. Fridges in good visual condition with nothing missing can be donated to the Renew shops. Longley Lane and Sandfold Lane both list fridges as accepted. See the Manchester tips.
Council collection
The council bulky collection asks you to make sure large items such as cupboards and fridges are empty, so a fridge can go on your free collection of three items, or on a paid one at £30.50. It goes on the pavement at the front of your property. A fridge that isn't empty won't be taken.
Other electrical items
Large and small electricals, TVs and monitors are accepted at the tips, and items in good condition may be donated to Renew. Batteries, vapes and fluorescent tubes should be brought to the centre, never put in home bins.
Private collection
A licensed collector will usually remove a fridge for about £20 to £50 as a UK guide price.
